Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS)

The Innovation Capability and Modernization (ICAM) office manages and executes the Department’s Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) program element, which aims to improve the readiness and competitiveness of the U.S. industrial base by establishing high priority domestic capabilities for new supply chains needed for national security and mitigating exposure to global supply chain risks.

The IBAS Program invests heavily in six priority industrial capability development areas. These are: Submarine and Shipbuilding Workforce, Kinetic Weapons, Microelectronics, Critical Chemicals, Castings and Forgings, and Energy Storage and Batteries. Each of these areas was identified in Executive Order 14017, America’s Supply Chains, as a center of gravity for America’s economic and national security.

Edits to some sections of business listings can be made by business owners who login and claim the business. Check the Help Guide on the SBA website for further instructions on using existing login information from other SBA applications to access Small Business Search.

ChallengeHER Program

In April 2013, WIPP, American Express, and the SBA launched ChallengeHER to deliver free workshops, mentoring, and direct access to government buyers. ChallengeHER is a national initiative to boost government contracting opportunities for women-owned small businesses with a special focus on the Women-owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contracting Program. They hold many events with free entry, but space is limited and registration is required.

Virginia Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA)

The Virginia MBDA Business Center helps Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) gain greater access to contracts, markets and capital in the federal government. Their mission is to aid, counsel, and assist MBE’s create jobs and generate revenues to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation. The Virginia MBDA Business Center delivers strategic business consulting and technical assistance programs to help develop sustainable and financially stronger minority business enterprises.

Center for Development of Security Excellence Training

This site, powered by the Department of Defense, Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), offers training in some key areas of security. CDSE provides diverse security courses and products to DOD personnel, DOD contractors, employees of other federal agencies, and selected foreign governments. Training is presented through a variety of learning platforms and is streamlined to meet performance requirements and accommodate the busy schedules of today’s students.
