Crystal Ober
Crystal Ober has 33 years of acquisition experience with 19 years of federal small business expertise–protecting the interest of small businesses on contractual issues, assisting them in navigation of procurement systems and partnering with government and commercial entities to further small business participation. She was Deputy Director of the Office of Small Business Programs at DLA Aviation for 19 years where she implemented DLA Aviation’s small business program initiatives including facilitation of DLA’s first Mentor Protégé agreements. Prior to her service in Small Business Programs, she was a Supervisory Contracting Officer for Airframes, Engines and Petro/Chemical. Crystal was awarded the 2014 Office of Procurement Policy Chief Acquisition Officer Council Small Business Excellence Award and the 2014 DoD Acquisition Workforce Achievement Award for Small Business. She is DAWIA Level III certified and has received DoD Small Business Professional Credentialing. She believes that small business agility and adaptability are the keys to sustaining the industrial base and is excited that her role with Virginia APEX Accelerator will support that effort.
